LOBAMBA – Losing to Young Buffaloes is not a big deal for First Division League outfit Malanti Chiefs.

Instead, promotion back to the elite league is what matters the most. That is how their coach, Mduduzi Nxumalo, summed up the 2-0 defeat yesterday at the Somhlolo National Stadium as Buffaloes progressed to the semis for the first time in this tournament since its inception last season.

“For us, coming this far was a bonus otherwise our focus is on getting promotion back to the top flight where the team belongs,” he said in his post-match comments.
He said playing Buffaloes was a good experience for his players ahead of their league games which they must win to stand a chance  in the promotion battle.

“We are a First Division team and played against elite league’s number two so it’s not a bad result,” he said about the outcome. His Buffaloes counterpart Dominic Kunene gave the responsibility to his assistant Sabelo Mnisi. “We were well prepared for them as we knew they are good with possessive football so we didn’t allow them the space,” Mnisi said.
He said it was great to reach the semis for the first time and they were ready for any team as they take one game as it comes.
