VOVOVO OUT TO RACE A CHEETAH

MBABANE – Pundits feel National First Division side Vovovo are shooting at the moon in trying to stop rampant Mbabane Swallows from recording their 21st win in all competitions this season.

No one can fault such assertions as it is crystal clear that this will be as cumbersome a task for Vovovo as trying to empty the sea with a thimble when they visit the illustrious opponents in the Ingwenyama Cup quarter-final showdown at Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend at 3:30pm.

However, all the pressure will be on Swallows as they will be eager to prove that they remain invincible even outside their usual territory in Somhlolo National Stadium. At least 18 out of the 20 wins have been recorded at the country’s football Mecca.

Vovovo coach, Edwin Matsebula, dubbed the fixture an important friendly, supposedly to ease the pressure on his troops.
He is hopeful the small-sized and sometimes bumpy Mayaluka Stadium will be an obstacle to the ‘team of the moment.’

It is an open secret that the star-studded Swallows, boasting the deadly trio of burly forward Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, lanky striker, Sandile Hlatshwako, and veteran winger, Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, are expected to prevail.
Time will tell if the National First Division promotion hopefuls will push water uphill with a rake.
