LOBAMBA – The rivalry between capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders and Swallows knows no bounds.

The unthinkable happened at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday when a fight broke out at the Highlanders grandstand as rivals, Swallows trailed 0-1 to Green Mamba.
A source close to the matter said the bone of contention was when a Highlanders fan told his fellow supporters that Swallows were going to equalise and win the match.
“That is when other Mbabane Highlanders supporters bayed for his blood and told him to vacate the ‘Bull’ stand before he got himself beaten. He refused and he insisted that he was right and that is when a number of ’Landers fans started beating him,” said the source.

When the Sports Desk arrived at the scene, the fan in question was taken by Royal Swaziland Police officers to safety.
The victim, according to the source, is not new to controversy as some few weeks back, he came to the Mbabane Highlanders stand dressed in a Mbabane Swallows replica and he was almost beaten.
Interestingly enough Swallows equalised and further won the game by 3-1.Substitue Sandile Hlatshwako scored a brace with Wonder Nhleko ensuring ‘Birds’ were unbeaten in 15 matches.Muhle Shiba scored the solitary goal for the Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga charges.

On the other hand, Mbabane Highlanders lost 2-3 to league defending champion Royal Leopard. At one point the ‘Bull’ were 2-0 up but the police ensemble completed a double over the Terisayi Changara charges. In the first round Leopard won 3-0.
