MBABANE – Some leaders are born and not made – that serves true for former Billiards Association of Swaziland (BAS) President Sikhatsi Dlamini, who was on Sunday elected Chairman of the HRPA Working Committee.

HRPA is an acronym of Hhohho Regional Pool Association (HRPA). The election of Dlamini, who is renowned for taking the country’s pool to the international level, even hosting the Africa Cup and Blackball World Cup in 2008, took place at Sigwaca House during a meeting between HRPA and BAS.

The committee was put in place to ensure the resolutions taken in the special general meeting are auctioned. These include ensuring teams’ affiliation with BAS to get full recognition with the national body and qualify for national team selection.
“The meeting went ahead successfully and we thank all the teams that attended as this is for the future of the sport that once was huge in the country. It’s still a big sport but now we have to get everything in place to return to the international fold,” BAS Interim President Muntu Dlamini said.

He said the elected committee chaired by Sikhatsi would work on the issues raised and findings discussed so they can move forward. He listed one of the issues the committee was to work on as establishing if the HRPA outgoing Executive Committee chaired by Hezekiel Magagula’s term had expired or not subsequent to a finding it ran out in July last year.
Worth mentioning is that Magagula and his executive were not present in the meeting and lawyers by the former tried to stop it through a letter to BAS, threatening court action if it proceeded.
