MBABANE – After losing two consecutive times in the capital city derby, Mbabane Highlanders supporters made their feelings known to the club’s boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane last Sunday but he has urged them not to panic.

A group of supporters waited outside their dressing room, wanting to meet him and express their emotions as they felt some good strikers were needed.
“We allowed the supporters to talk to us and even let three of them inside our dressing room as they asked to meet Mandla, and they did. It was explained how important they were in the team but they need not use the wrong forums or even start panicking for that matter,” Simelane said.

He continued to say; “Supporters need to understand this is a new team that has shown it was going in the right direction given Leopard and Swallows were the strongest teams that if you play so well against them and lose, not because you couldn’t win, is a sign of the potential the current players have.”

He said he believed in the players to do the job such that all those who watched the derby series since the Castle Premier Challenge first leg can attest Highlanders, in spite of losing more than half of last season’s team that so nearly won the league, would soon be competitive.

“People must understand that currently, we all know we need a striker or two and intend to register them but we have a pending issue with the FA. It’s just not in our hands as the FA won’t let us make additions. Takawira has a job now at Red Lions but even they cannot register him,” he said.
He said the fans were talking of Takawira now being at Red Lions player but he said that transfer has not worked out yet so ‘it’s all a nightmare for us’ and Red Lions who have offered the player a job.
