MBABANE – Head injuries are always feared serious but Mbabane Highlanders can heave a sigh of relief as their striker, Mohammed Sabella, is expected to recover in time for the crunch Castle Premier Challenge semi-finals this weekend.

The Black Bull face bitter rivals Mbabane Swallows in the first leg semi finals on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium, following a draw yesterday afternoon.

Sabella sustained a head injury in the quarter-finals last Sunday at the Somhlolo National Stadium in their 3-1 win over Manzini Wanderers to advance to the semis. The club’s Managing Director, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, who was excited about the win but said they had to get better, still said the player conceded he was feeling much better before referring questions to their acting PRO Sifiso Magagula.

“It looked quite serious after the collision with the Wanderers’ player, who also required treatment. Sabella got medical attention immediately and was discharged after treatment. We believe he’ll be fit for the next match this weekend,” said Magagula.
He said while the player felt better, he still had to see a doctor for a scan as head injuries could be complicated at times. He said they needed to be certain that he was okay to return to training tomorrow (today) or this week.
