MBABANE – Coaches from the United States of America are helping shape the future of some the country’s youngsters.

The visitors from Adventure Soccer are led by Matt Raney. He led a five-member delegation that made a stop at the Police Sports Ground situated at a few metres from capital city to conduct  soccer clinics for a Hhohho regional side, SuperSport, who  campaign in the B Division, a fifth-tier in the country.

The children, mainly 15 years and younger, were taught basic football skills and the importance of growing spiritually on Wednesday. The team further got merchandise comprising a set of 22 jerseys and bibs.
Raney said his office was supporting similar programmes across the world.

“We don’t only assist the players to improve their football skills but to have faith in Jesus,” said Raney.
Samkeliso Simelane, who coaches the future soccer stars, was appreciative of the continued support as he felt the merchandise would be motivational to the players in the quest to improve in the game.

“They saw us training here at Police Sports Ground and offered to help. They are supporting us for the second time,” said Simelane. Meanwhile, Raney disclosed that his institution further assisted the country with fresh-water as well as soup kitchen projects, especially in the Lubombo region.

The coaches are expected to visit Duze outside Siphofaneni this morning to mentor children at the area.
