MBABANE – Green Mamba could emerge with deadly venom from the preseason as the club intensifies its preparations with a series of international friendly games.

The Correctional Services team will play South Africa’s SuperSport United and Witbank Spurs next week away from home and those fixtures will precede clashes against top Mozambican sides, Costa Do Sol and Ferroviarro.

Our sources at the Hebert Maruwa coached side confirmed that the club would be away next week as they heighten preparations for their crunch Castle Premier Challenge Top 8 match against army side Young Buffaloes in two weeks’ time.
“After playing Jomo Cosmos, the team will spend the week in the kingdom before travelling to South Africa and Mozambique, respectively.
They have secured practice matches against SuperSport and Witbank Spurs,” the source said.

Green Mamba CEO Thami Phakathi could only confirm that the club would play four friendly matches outside the country next week.
“Normally, we do not want to reveal our opponents because these games are part of our preseason training. There are certain things that the coaches are looking into which could be jeopardised if made public. However, we are going to play four more games before the start of the new season,” Phakathi  said.

The club has been busy during the off season and have already played visiting Black Leopards twice before travelling to Johannesburg over the past weekend to play Jomo Cosmos. Maruwa, who led the club to the final of the SwaziBank Cup before losing 1-2 to Mbabane Swallows, has assembled a strong squad after acquiring the services of Thabiso Gumbi from Moneni Pirates and Mxolisi Mkhontfo from Malanti Chiefs.
