MBABANE – Just as light showers swept past the capital city yesterday, Mahindra Swaziland rained E10 000 sponsorship for the Mbabane Juniors Knockout.

The knockout games will cater for Under-13s and Under-15s football teams and will begin on Saturday at the Msunduza Sports Ground. The launch was held yesterday at Sigwaca House with Mahindra Swaziland Dealer Principal Sifiso Zulu saying they saw it a good initiative to endorse juniors as they represented the future. He said the sponsorship would be renewed annually and that as a relatively new company in the country, they were happy with the support they got from individuals and companies.
Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) Comfort Shongwe said they appreciated the partnership with Mahindra and commended them for partnering with the biggest sport in the world.

“It is essential to start development at grassroots level and we have an opportunity of grooming future Sihlangu stars,” Shongwe said, as national team Sihlangu Manager Josiah ‘Digger’ Dlamini, who was in attendance wore the broadest of smiles.
Shongwe said the car dealers had chosen the right region for investment with HRFA as they boasted of over 300 clubs and that at executive level, they were encouraging the different leagues to establish as many junior leagues as possible.
