MBABANE – It all seems to be only a matter of time before Mbabane Swallows and Sihlangu stars Felix Badenhorst sign on the dotted line at South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Bloemfontein Celtics.

In the pecking order of who is likely to sign first, Celtics’ coach Serame Letsoaka who admitted he has been impressed by both Badenhorst and Sabelo Ndzinisa during the two weeks he has been assessing them. Serame told Kick Off South Africa over the weekend that their fate would be known soon.

“I want to say Sabelo is a very good player. He is quick, very mobile, well-built, gives defenders difficulty and can shoot. Coming to Felix, what a brilliant player! Felix has lots of brains, is a very technical player and fits very well into our technical game,” he said when called yesterday about his assessment of the duo.

Serame would not confirm whether they would be getting a contract with his team, but added that he liked the calmness possessed by Badenhorst inside the box.
“That’s as much as I can say right now. But until I give my report to the Celtics’ management, I can’t say if we’re offering them contracts or not.”

Asked if they played a part in their friendly game last Saturday, Serame said unfortunately they had only one game to play, so he couldn’t use all the players on board, but the team had hoped for more games. However, he said he was ready to deliver his report on the two stars that formed part of the bronze medal winning Sihlangu in the COSAFA Castle Cup in Namibia last month.

Badenhorst was twice Man of the Match and also won the Golden Boot Award with five goals, netting close to E30 000 in prizes from the tournament.
‘Sikhali’ was one of the most troublesome strikers to watch in the tournament, also scoring that all-important goal against Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the third-place play-off to win the bronze for Sihlangu and E125 000 for finishing third.
Swallows’ CEO Sibusiso Manana declined to comment on the duo. His excuse was that the matter was directly handled by the club’s Managing Director Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze. He said it would be better to comment once he became aware that Celtics have given the boss such impression.
However, no immediate comment could be obtained from Gamedze.
