MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders have lined up former Zimbabwe’s Dynamos striker Anesu Gondo ahead of the new season.

The player is currently out of contract with the ‘DeMbare’, as the Harare-based Zimbabwean giants are called.
Our sources in Zimbabwe have confided that the box to box midfielder has been contacted about a possible move to join the MTN League runners-up when the new season resumes.
“Gondo has been contacted by a team in Swaziland and he is considering the option. But he is waiting for a go-ahead to travel to Mbabane,” the source said.

Mbabane Highlanders boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane confirmed last week Friday that there was a player from Zimbabwe who was expected to join the team soon.
“There is a player from Zimbabwe’s Dynamos that we want to sign. He is not the only one, as we are also expecting a striker from Malawi that our coach Merk Mwase will be bringing when we resume on the first week of July. Like I have said before, we are looking at strengthening the team with foreign players who will bring value. We feel it is time we win something after putting so much hard work as a team,” he said.

The player’s agent, Dingaan Maduna, could only confirm that Gondo was among the list of players whose CV was sent to Mbabane Highlanders for consideration.
“If they want him, we have no problem we can bring him as soon as possible. We have also arranged a couple of other players from South Africa for the team,” he said briefly yesterday.
According to Zimbabwean media, Gondo comes highly rated after making an impressive start to the Harare-based giants who have dominated the league for over two decades.
