MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers have requested a meeting with the PLS over the club’s E671 000 Charity Cup debt.

The hub giants yesterday disclosed that they had responded to the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) letter demanding that they make an undertaking to pay back the money owed to Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) for voting vouchers taken on credit last year.

Wanderers General Manager Patrick Gamedze yesterday confirmed that they had responded to the PLS by requesting an audience over the issue.
“We want to believe that there were agreements in place from the beginning and we want to engage them on finding an amicable solution to the problem.

“As a team we have a good working relationship with the PLS and we wouldn’t like to see the issue dragging. That is why we have responded seeking an audience with the parties involved,” he said.
Meanwhile, PLS CEO John Mazibuko yesterday said they had not received any correspondence regarding the issue from the teams, and that they were going to report to the sponsor, SPTC.

“The office has not received any response from the teams regarding the matter and we are going to report to SPTC because after all we were requested by them to assist them on the matter,” Mazibuko said.
The PLS had two weeks ago confirmed to have written to four teams on the instruction of SPTC requesting that they pay back part of the Charity Cup money owed for voting vouchers.

The other three clubs were Young Buffaloes, Manzini Sundowns and Royal Leopard.
