MBABANE – The partnership between the PLS and parents consequent to the development leagues yesterday saw some parents bear witness to its positives in the lives of the youngsters.

It was a day in which the PLS met some of the parents of the players who excelled in the SwaziBank Cup Under-20 Knockout and PLS Reserve League.
Teams that came were Green Mamba while champions Young Buffaloes, who won E30 000, were still expected to show up at Sigwaca House.
Green Mamba had finished the knockout as runners-up and pocketed E15 000 which the PLS

then divides equally between the registered players of that team, same is applied for the champions. Each Green Mamba player received E700.
“We want to thank the parents for trusting us with their children while they’re in class. The PLS is also doing its best to ensure they learn discipline through the game,” said PLS Development PRO Dumisani ‘DU’ Sibandze.

PLS COO Pat Vilakati who represented the CEO John Mazibuko said they were proud to see the parents coming to Sigwaca House as that showed support for their children who compete in competitions under the PLS.
“Football keeps the children away from mischief and as PLS we encourage good behaviour always among the players as their future stands to be compromised if they copy bad habits as rightly put by the PLS chairman last Friday,” he said.

He appealed for continued support to the parents while adding the PLS was handing over the cash to them so they can see the rewards their children get from football.
