MBABANE – Three players will contest the Mbabane Highlanders Player of the Season award during the team’s awards ceremony at Timbali Lodge on Saturday.

The players are; MTN League Player of the Season Lungelo Tsabedze, Jimoh Moses and Sihlangu goalkeeper Sidumo Vilakati.
The club released the list of nominees for each of the Player of the Season, Most Improved Player, Most Disciplined, Goal of the Season and Supporter of the Season categories. There will also be the Players’ Player of the Season, who will be voted for by his own colleagues. The club boss, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane confirmed the nominees yesterday.

“There will be prizes for each of the categories which we will announce during the event, as we are busy finalising with the sponsors,” he said.
The trio had an outstanding impact in the club which was only a point behind MTN League champions in the recently ended season.

Tsabedze scaled new heights when his 11 goals in the league pushed the club to the second position in the MTN League log.
He was also joint top scorer in the league and SwaziBank Cup despite that his team crashed out in the last 16 of the competition to traditional rivals Mbabane Swallows.

Moses, signed from Manzini Sundowns alongside left back Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze and quickly made an instant impact at the club claiming the centre back position.
He will pose a strong challenge to Tsabedze alongside goalkeeper Sidumo, whose great performance saw him break into the senior national team Sihlangu.
