MBABANE – “A rose by any other name still smells as sweet,” once asserted William Shakespeare and he could have well described the magical SwaziBank Cup in its illustrious 13-year-old history.

Slogans have changed over the years but still the same drama, tension, wondrous goals and sheer ball artistry have come to define the magical SwaziBank Cup, which is certainly the flagship of Swazi football.

SwaziBank Managing Director Zakhele Lukhele believes we are headed to an exhilarating cup final on Sunday where maiden cup winners, Green Mamba and two-time Champions, Mbabane Swallows will be pitted against each other in a battle royale.

“We expect another memorable final because that’s what we have come to expect over the years. It is no longer a matter of which teams are in the final but the support has always been excellent. It’s also not possible to predict a winner because the two teams have equal chances and there is no form when it comes to knockouts,” Lukhele asserted.

The SwaziBank MD shares his views on many topical issues ahead of the final in this candid-interview...
TIMES: The SwaziBank Cup 2016, under the slogan ‘Sidlala Kanje’, reaches its climax with the final on Sunday. Your impressions about this year’s tournament?

LUKHELE: The tournament has been great as usual. Even though it started with protests, once those were done with, the progress was smooth. There were also finals before the final. In a knockout where any team can pick any team there is a lot of tension even at the draws.
TIMES: What are your expectations about Sunday’s finale?
