MLILWANE – In their effort to keep people running for healthy reasons, Total Swaziland has pumped in E25 000 towards the #ResolutionRun, 10km fun run.

The run/walk will be held on February 20 at Hlane National Park. The race will start at 5pm to mitigate the summer temperatures. Total Swaziland Managing Director Anthony Siebert handed over the cheque yesterday to Big Game Parks Tourism Executive Dudley Venner and Local Marketing Coordinator Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini.

Last week Monday, Total Swaziland also sponsored the ‘Tuff One’ half-marathon with the same amount.
The ‘Tuff One’ race is scheduled for February 28 at Zakhele Sports Ground and it is hosted by Golden Foot Athletics Club.

Siebert said they were happy with such events as they assist the nation to get close to nature.
“We are promoting healthy living to Swazis and for us to achieve that we had to partner with organisations who are hosting such events like the Big Game Parks. We are inviting the nation to come in numbers to enjoy the run and also be physically active,” he said.

Meanwhile, Big Game Parks Tourism Executive Venner thanked Total Swaziland for their continued support for nature conservation and sports in the country. He thanked the MD and Territory Manager Sindisile Horton for believing in their vision and coming on board as partners and major sponsor for the #ResolutionRun.

“The #ResolutionRun is an annual fun run which began last year at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. We have moved the event to Hlane Royal National Park with the aim on increasing visitation to the Lubombo region. The drawcards for the event include the challenge of the diverse terrain, the venue being inside a national park and the beneficiaries being both conservation and selected community projects,” he said.

Venner said the Total Swaziland sponsorship for this event will go into the Big Game Parks project account, dedicated to fund-raising for specific conservation and community projects directly linked to Big Game Parks.
