MBABANE – Coach of tennis juniors, Thulani Gina, was left smiling by the talent displayed by the juniors during the AJC selection squad tournament.

The tournament for selecting 12 juniors who will represent the country in the Africa Junior Championships was held on Saturday at the University of Swaziland (UNISWA) courts. 35 juniors attended the tournament.
Gina said he was yet to finalise the squad but the talent displayed by the players was impressive.

He said he was confident that those to be selected would represent the country well in the games to be held early January in Pretoria, South Africa. “I was happy with the attendance as lot of children came by and they displayed great standards. It shows that there is future for the sport. I’m confident that a good squad that will make the country proud will be selected.

There are few things that I have to finalise before I announce the team,” he said.
Gina said he was now drafting the preparations or training programme for the team. “I hope we will be able at least to train every weekend. This will help the player improve their game and get used to my playing style. I’m happy that parents are also supportive,” he said.
