NGWENYA – With less than 24 hours left before tomorrow’s scheduled 2018 World Cup preliminary round second leg qualifying match, Djibouti are still stuck in Nairobi, Kenya.

The ‘Shore men of the Red Sea’ are failing to secure transit visas to connect from the Nairobi International Airport to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo. Djibouti had left their country on Friday night, hours after a 6-0 baptism of fire at the hands of a ruthless Sihlangu for the second leg match to be played tomorrow under floodlights at Somhlolo National Stadium.

National Football Association (FA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu confirmed that Sihlangu’s opponents tomorrow were still in Nairobi.
“They are still in Nairobi and word is that they have challenges securing transit visas to connect to South Africa. We will see tomorrow (today) what happens,” he said.

An FA delegation turned back at King Mswati III International Airport on Saturday afternoon, when they had gone to welcome Djibouti in a 5pm plane after they were told Djibouti are stuck in Kenya.

Sihlangu returned last night at around 7pm through the Ngwenya Border Post. Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga’s charges, that are set to progress to the next stage of the qualifying campaign after winning the first leg with an unassailable 6-0 scoreline will face Nigeria in the next round for the road to the 2018 World Cup to be hosted by Russia.
