MBABANE – With the Mbabane derby case dragging, galloping Mbabane Swallows striker Sandile Hlatjwako has received his top goalscorer prize for the past MTN league season.

This is despite that the derby mayhem case is still pending after Mbabane Highlanders took the Football Association’s (FA) Appeals Board to court. The case, which is No.1297 of 2015, was registered by the club’s lawyer Martin ‘Internash’ Dlamini.

In the papers that the club is still to file at the High Court, it lists the FA’s adhoc committee chaired by Lucky Howe, which handled the derby mayhem case, as the first respondent in the matter, with the original FA Appeal’s Board chaired by Joe Gumede, which handled the missing cards case, as the second respondent, respectively.

Sandile scored a hat-trick in the ill fated derby that was called off with nine minutes remaining and played on December 9, 2014. Swallows were leading with what looked like a comfortable 4-1 scoreline.

The Sihlangu striker was on 10 league goals with the derby goals not included which would have meant Solomon Oladele was to win the prize after the Nigerian hit-man scored a dozen. If included, Sandile’s derby goals take him to 13, one more than Oladele.

“I received my prize for the top scorer award. I was on 13 goals with the derby goals included,” he said when reached last Friday. PLS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Mazibuko could only say teams got their prizes for the past season. He was evasive to comment mentioning that he would have to touch base with the organisation’s executive.
