MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane has jumped to the defence of his younger brother, the team’s Chief Scout, Mandla.

In a press conference held at the BPL offices yesterday, and obviously reacting to published rumours yesterday by another newspaper, Simelane said they were aware that the newspaper referred to the chief scout even though there were no names mentioned in the said article. It was alleged that Highlanders players have accused a certain team official of causing a rift among them.

“What happened is that the players and the coaches were called to a meeting on Monday where players were instructed to report all their problems and grievances with the coach (Meck Mwase). He will act as the coach and manager like it happens in world football to have a controlled structure.
“The coach will then relay players’ grievances with the relevant people in the management committee.

There was no division discussed at the meeting,” Simelane said. The boss paid tribute to his younger brother for working tirelessly for the team. He said he was the one responsible for recruiting all the team players and, therefore, cannot in anyway sow division.
