MBABANE – There is no rest for sprinter Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa.

The Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) athlete only spent 24 hours in the country before his departure for the Africa Games yesterday.
He arrived on Tuesday midday from Beijing where he was competing in the IAAF World Championships and he left the country yesterday for Congo, Brazzaville for the Africa Games.

Matsenjwa will compete in both 100m and 200m in the All Africa Games. He left with sprinter Mlandvo Shongwe and Phumlile Ndzinisa.
All the athletes will be representing the country in the games after having qualified.

Matsenjwa experienced the same challenge in 2011 as he had to compete in the then All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique as he returned from the World Championships that were held in Korea. Matsenjwa, who is the national record holder in 100m and 200m, left for the Africa Games having clocked 20:78 seconds in the IAAF World Championships.

His best time in 200m is 20:67 seconds while in 100m he clocked 10:38 seconds.
“I will do all my best in the Africa Games after I did not perform to my best in the world championships. My main target is the 200m as I want to clock the qualifying time for the Olympic Games to be held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil,” he said.
Matsenjwa, who recently made the country proud during the SADC Police Games held in the country in early August said he aims to reach the finals and be in the top 10 in Africa.
