MBABANE – After Sihlangu’s sterling performance in recent matches, coach ‘Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga has earned himself a 13-month contract extension alongside his lieutenants.

The former Umbelebele Jomo Cosmos and Moneni Pirates coach will be in charge of the squad until September 30, 2016.
His new contract is with effect from  August 1, 2015. The contract extension by the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) will also apply to Madze’s assistants, Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe and goalkeeper coach Sipho Dube. Bulunga will lead the squad for the first time under the new contract on Sunday during the first leg match of the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers where they will host Malawi at Somhlolo National Stadium.

During a press conference held at the Sigwaca House yesterday, NFAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu said after the association’s executive committee review, they decided to extend the technical bench’s contract. This in essence means Bulunga will guide the squad until the end of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers. Bulunga will also lead the team to the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and the COSAFA Senior Challenge to be staged in Namibia in May next year.

“The Sihlangu technical bench headed by Bulunga was out of contract as it expired on July 30. The technical bench is given the duties to lead the team until the AFCON qualifiers end.

The executive will sit down again and review the performance after the contract has expired,” he said.
Mngomezulu was accompanied by some of the executive members, being Sonnyboy Mabuza, Comfort Shongwe and Johannes Soboza.
‘Madze’ with his troops made the country proud in the COSAFA Senior Challenge in May in Rustenburg, South Africa, where they bowed out of the tournament undefeated.
