MBABANE – The Zimbabwean duo of goalkeepers Jim Knowledge and Nicho Francis, formerly with Mbabane Swallows, are training with Manzini Wanderers.

Both players are out of favour at the capital city giants after the arrival of highly rated goal minder Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza from the same Wanderers. The two are waiting for coach Kenny Ndlazi to make a recommendation on their futures.

Francis, who arrived at Swallows last season to claim the number one spot, had been tipped to join newcomers Bad Boys on loan alongside former teammate Mancoba Ndwandwe.

Wanderers Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza did not want to mention the names of the goalkeepers trying their luck at the maroon and white giants.

“The truth of the matter is that there has been an influx of goalkeepers and we have a couple of foreigners and locals on trial. I cannot divulge names at the moment but the decision on who will be signed will be made the coach,” he said.

Currently manning the sticks at Wanderers is the youthful Wenziwe Khumalo who has conceded four goals in two games for the ‘Weslians’.
Meanwhile, the team fans will heave a sigh of relief to learn that their captain, Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya, is back training with the team.

Ginindza confirmed the former Sihlangu and Mhlambanyatsi Rovers captain’s presence at training but said he was yet to commit to a new deal.
