MBABANE – The Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) Pool League’s title race is certainly heating up as the top three teams just cannot stop winning.

Over the weekend, leaders Jay Zee managed a 14-11 win over Nicks while second-placed Super Eagles also won by the same scoreline against Bhunya. Third-placed Way Inn scored a bonus win over Macembe in their Malkerns derby, pocketing a convincing 19-6 victory.

However, this weekend’s fixtures are just more interesting especially for Super Eagles and Way Inn who head for tough times against the likes of France and PDX respectively. Both Way Inn and Super Eagles are the next best teams in the log table with PDX on fourth and France on fifth.

Jay Zee, who are defending champions, still lead Eagles by a point at the summit and will look to extend the gap this Saturday when they play lowly-placed Macembe at the latter’s backyard. The pressure will be on Super Eagles and Way Inn to win if they still have any hopes for anything better than where they are now with just four games remaining before the league finishes.
