MBABANE – As reported early this week that Mbabane Highlanders were negotiating with Stefanutti Stocks, a construction company in Matsapha over a sponsorship, it has been established that the deal is worth E200 000.

Close sources have said the deal was set to earn the team about E200 000 throughout the season. It was gathered that the reason figures were not publicly confirmed was because it was most likely to be increased somewhere along the season depending on talks with the club’s Managing Director, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane.

“But for now is a deal around E200 000 for the club which will see them become the main sponsors of the club if nobody comes with a better offer as they’re still open to more companies willing to use the advertising mileage by being in the team’s kit,” said a source on condition of anonymity.
The club’s PRO Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini and Simelane had both confirmed early this week that the company was going to be their main sponsor after fruitful talks with them but indicated the deal could improve with time.

Dlamini had also said the sponsorship will come in the form of monthly instalments but without giving out figures in respect of the agreement they entered into with Stefanutti Stocks who have followed in the footsteps of Inyatsi Construction who pumped a record E1.5 million to Highlanders’ city rivals Mbabane Swallows.

Called again yesterday, Dlamini was diplomatic in his response refusing to divulge figures in the deal except to confirm their new partner.
He said Highlanders welcomed the company and believed everything starts somewhere while it grows with time. The company’s Director, Shaun White, when reached was just as reluctant to go into the finer details of the deal.
