MBABANE –A highly rated Malawi national team defender, Yamikani Fodya, is linked with a move to ambitious side, Manzini Sundowns.

The 23-year-old, who also plays for top Malawian side, Big Bullets, is set to make a stop in the country anytime for further assessment. One of that country’s publication, Nyasa Times, disclosed that the move was imminent. Big Bullets Vice General Secretary Kelvin Moyo was quoted confirming the interest but was quick to say the player’s suitors should table an impressive offer.

Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa could only say there were a lot of players targeted by the ensemble but it was too early to disclose names.
“We’re looking at several players but we can’t disclose names at this stage as we can end up jeopardising the negotiations with their respective teams.”

Meanwhile, Matsenjwa said the team’s preseason training was in full swing and a new coach would be unveiled in due course.
The versatile left-back has featured prominently for the Malawian national side. He last appeared in national team’s colours in the 1-2 loss to Egypt in an international friendly match in June this year.
