MBABANE – MTN Khemani cyclist Joseph Waring has maintained his lead in the men road cycle rankings.

The fast improving cyclist’s 500 points kept him on top of the charts alongside Velo Cycle eSwatini’s Linda Loffler.
The latter leads in the women rankings with 600 points.  Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) Secretary Menzi Tsela confirmed the standings, saying they were based on the performance of the competitors after the last race styled Kukhanya Shiselweni Classic about a month ago.

“All the Swazi Frontier sponsored riders are now affiliated to Inyatsi Cycling Club. They will maintain the points they’ve earned individually. However, the points they earned before affiliating to Inyatsi won’t be carried forward to the new club.”
Meanwhile, youngster Darren Dunn, who is among the promising cyclists, is the Under-23s leader but is placed third overall with 440 points.

The next stop will be at the MTN Khemani Road Classic in October. Roads races staged so far include the Nhlangano Classic, Total Road Championships, Mafutseni and the inaugural Kukhanya.
Overall winners by the end of the season stand a chance to be decorated. CAS is planning an awards ceremony at the end of the year.
