MBABANE – Kaizer Chiefs winger Siphiwe Tshabalala has said his team was working hard ahead of the King’s Super Cup next week Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs will be in the country on July 18 to play in the one day tournament at Somhlolo National Stadium against Mbabane Swallows at 9am before a clash pitting Orlando Pirates and Royal Leopard at 11am. The winners of the ties will play in the finals later in the afternoon for the E1 million at stake.

The two Soweto giants will later feature in the annual Carling Black Label Cup at the Soccer City Stadium.
Tshabalala was quoted by the online sports publication SuperSport.com saying they were enjoying life under new coach Steve Komphela.

“We are enjoying training and are working hard to get fit. It is only a matter of time until we have to get back to playing serious matches.

With the preseason matches also nearing we have to make sure that we up our fitness levels so as to avoid injuries,” he said. Tshabalala suggests the transition from former coach Stuart Baxter to Komphela has been smooth and the defending Premier Soccer League champions are itching to get back to playing matches.

“We have been in a break for a while now and I think that our supporters are ready to get back to the excitement of cup and league competitions. Exciting times are coming and we will be doing our best on the field to give our fans the bragging rights off the field,” he said.
