MHLATANE HIGH SWEEPS THE BOARDS IN DARTS CHAMPS

 MBABANE – The final day of the Schools Darts Championships hosted by the Swaziland National Darts Association (SNDA) on Friday saw Mhlatane emerging as a dominant force in the development sector.


Out of four finals played in both the boys and girls section of the Under-15 and Under-18 category, they could not take home two titles.
This was in the U-15 finals where the boys, Mhlatane B team lost 9-6 to the Swazi National High A team, while the girls, Mhlatane A team was beaten 9-5 by St. Christopher’s.


The girls A team was merciless to St. Christopher’s, thrashing them 5-9 to scoop the crown.
Meanwhile, in the U-18 games, Mhlatane A narrowly beat a hard-fighting Lomahasha 9-8 to once again take the trophy home, while the boys final saw Mhlatane A lose to Mhlatane C, who humiliated them 3-9 to claim the crown.


The winners were presented with cash prizes, trophies and medals, while the runners-up and third-placed teams also got cash prizes and medals. On the other hand, the singles games were largely dominated by St. Christopher’s players. U-15 girls’ national team player Ayanda Kunene of St.

Christopher’s was the star of the show, as she scooped the E500 after being named the tournament’s Best Player. She was presented with her prize by Giant Clothing boss Jay Hall. The E500 topped up to E150 which she got for being champion in the girls U-15 singles games.
