MBABANE – As the nation awaits this afternoon’s national soccer team CHAN Qualifier match away in Angola, the squad’s coach Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga has said the home fans have openly declared ‘we stand no chance’.
Madze and the squad led by NFAS’ Executive member Comfort Shongwe left the country on Wednesday to Johannesburg where they connected a flight on Thursday to Angola on Thursday morning.

“We arrived safely at around 1pm and the reception has been good so far. What I can say is that the people here are confident their team will advance to the next round. They’re giving us a zero chance to win in their own backyard,” he said.
He said the home fans, who they met, said they also had the opportunity to watch the first leg encounter played a fortnight ago at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“They say from what they saw, Sihlangu is good and impressive but as much as that was the case, they still gave us not one chance against their national team. Nonetheless, we are here and had our first training on Thursday evening,” he said.
He said they were accommodated at the Rosa Valls Hotel which is about 20 minutes away from the match venue. He said they also had an experience of the match venue yesterday afternoon. The match venue is called the 11 November Stadium. “The players are good, focussed and looking forward to the game,” he said.

He said they were not letting the home fans’ talk get into them as that was not in their minds but the match which they needed to win to advance to face most likely South Africa’s Bafana who play Muaritius in the second leg with a 3-0 lead. Sihlangu go into this away leg with a 2-2 draw which requires a win or at least a 2-all draw to force extra time and eventually a penalty shootout.
