LOBAMBA – The travelling Sihlangu has been dealt a crippling blow, as three key players will not make the trip to Angola.

Recently recalled lanky attacker Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst, alongside striker Sandile Hlatjwako have aggravated their injuries and will not make the trip tomorrow.

Manzini Sundowns skipper and central defender Phumlani Dlamini will not make the trip, as he has been missing from the squad’s camp due to personal problems.

Badenhorst, who had made the 18-member squad that travelled to Rustenburg in South Africa for the COSAFA Cup but could not kick a ball, has once again been sidelined due to the nagging thigh muscle pull.

Hlatjwako, on the other hand, is troubled by a knee injury that was also aggravated at training this week.
Sihlangu are due to leave the country tomorrow for Angola to honour the CHAN second leg clash against the Angolans, which will be played in Luanda on Saturday afternoon. Sihlangu need at least a 3-3 draw or any kind of win to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Badenhorst, interviewed yesterday, said he was devastated by the latest setback, as he had been itching for a comeback.
“I just run out of words in describing the predicament I find myself in. I have been out of action for a lengthy time now but unfortunately my return has been cut short even before I could kick a ball in an official game.

“This is so painful, more especially because I had hoped that I had fully recovered,” said the attacker. Both players missed the squad’s morning training session at Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday.
