MBABANE – Sihlangu had a legitimate goal disallowed by a questionable offside decision in the celebrated 2-0 win over Lesotho on Wednesday night.

This was a feeling of pay channel, SuperSport presenters in bubbly Sizwe Mabena and veteran Brian Mathe.
The game, which saw Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga’s charges maintaining their cutting edge in the competition, was broadcast on SuperSport 9.
With about 20 minutes played, phenomenal skipper, Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, rattled the net with a wondrous shot from inside the danger area but his effort was ruled out for offside by the second assistant referee Akhtar Rossaye.

The commentators unanimously agreed that Sihlangu were let down by the wrong decision. They kept on referring to the incident even after the national outfit enjoyed a lead in the second half.

A 3-0 win would have helped Sihlangu match current group leaders, Madagascar’s four-goal tally.
Retired Premier League referee, Ernest Dlamini, also concurred with the astute sports presenters.

“It was a ‘clean’ goal. When Tony received the ball he was onside, so the offside call was indeed shocking.”
The national outfit are making waves in the ongoing Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) after winning all their opening two games to get closer to the quarter-finals.

A win against unbeaten fellow last eight hopefuls, Madagascar, today will guarantee the local charges a place in the knockout stage against African giants, Ghana on Monday.
