MBABANE – Black and white outfit Mbabane Highlanders have alleged that the Disciplinary Committee (DC), which is hearing their matter of the team’s missing cards, is angry with the club.

Highlanders stand accused of causing the cancellation of their MTN Premier League second round encounter against MTN Premier League champions in waiting Royal Leopard. The game was slated for Somhlolo National Stadium but was called off at the eleventh hour, as the team alleged that they had forgotten the players’ playing cards in Mbabane.

In the matter, which was first heard last week, the Mbabane giants alleged, through their attorney Martin ‘Internash’ Dlamini, that the DC was angry. Dlamini submitted that the fact that the DC once recused itself in another matter involving the team could mean that the DC members were still angry with the team.

Guarantee

Dlamini said they had no guarantee that their matter would be heard fairly by the DC, imploring the members to again recuse themselves from the issue.
The DC members consist of Chairman Melusi Lukhele, member Mandlakhe Fakudze and Secretary Philip ‘Big Daddy’ Dlamini.

The DC, however, declined to recuse itself from the matter, saying they recused themselves from a totally different issue, which is not related to the one Highlanders were facing. Dlamini, in his submissions, also pleaded not guilty to the charge, calling upon the office of the PLS to prove that, indeed, the game was slated for that particular day at the same venue.

Dlamini made it clear that they were not guilty of causing the cancellation of the game and said they prayed for a replay under the circumstances.
His failure, however, to submit his team’s written arguments by noon at the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) office means the DC will have the right to issue a verdict on the matter without the written Highlanders’ submissions.
