MBABANE – The MTN National First Division League relegation battle between Umbelebele Jomo Cosmos and Hellenic will be played on Saturday.

The mini-Mbabane derby will be played at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground, kick-off 3pm. Umbelebele can do with a point to stay in the First Division League while Hellenic need to win the game at all cost to survive the axe. Umbelebele have 23 points after 21 games while Hellenic are trailing behind with 22 points. The loser between the two sides will join the trio of Mhlambanyatsi Rovers, Ludzeludze Killers and Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows who have already been relegated.

Umbelebele Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sifiso Hlatshwako said they were going to fight hard to survive relegation. He said they had many challenges during the season but they hoped that they would survive and start afresh to re-build the team. “Most of our players absented themselves during games and that affected us the whole season. There was a point in time when the team struggled to make a squad for a game but this being a community team, some people assisted,” he said.

Hlatshwako said they would not like to see the team going down. He said they were doing all their best to win the game or force a point that would save them from playing in the Hhohho Super League Southern Zone next season.
Hlatshwako said they were hoping that people would come forward and assist in the running of the club next season.
