MBABANE – Young cyclists are now dominating during local races.

The observation was made by the Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) President Mandla Simelane on Saturday during the Sifundzani High School fund-raising race on Saturday.

The races including the 40km, 20km and 10km were mainly won by young stars.
The 40km race which was the main race on the day was won by 26-year-old Sihawu Dlamini and 18-year-old Sifiso Mhlanga was second with 19-year-old Mduduzi Zwane coming third. All these cyclists are from The Swazi Frontier.

“The young stars are starting to show their true colours. They are doing well and today they proved that they have what it takes to be the champions. They are dominating the sport and this shows that we have a future,” he said.
Simelane thanked all those who competed in the Sifundzani High School race.

19-year-old Mduduzi Zwane said he was working hard at training and he wants to attend all cycling events.
“Now the main challenge is the Nedbank Imvelo MTB. I want to do well in that race and this one greatly helped me in the preparations,” he said.
