MBABANE – Royal Leopard stars Zweli ‘Mlilo’ Nxumalo and Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo have vowed to make the nation happy, only if they come to Somhlolo tomorrow.

The duo has been inspirational in the police side’s surge to the last 16 of the CAF Confederations Cup, where they have been pitted against African giants AS Vita of DRC tomorrow at 3pm at the Mecca of Swazi football – Somhlolo National Stadium.

After an intense training session at the match venue yesterday afternoon, the players made a hearty plea to the nation to converge at the stadium to rally behind them, as they seek to cause another upset in the competition.
They have already knocked out South Africa’s Bidvest Wits and Angola’s Petro Atletico. “We have done enough preparations for the game and the spirit is very high in camp. I can only urge the nation to come in huge numbers to support us.

“We are not representing Royal Leopard anymore but the country, so everyone has to come and cheer us on. We are geared for the challenge posed by AS Vita despite that they are a closed book to us,” Mkhontfo said.
Playmaker Zweli ‘Mlilo’ Nxumalo has promised to make the nation happy, as long as they come to the stadium.

“We are finalising our preparations but already we are geared for the big day tomorrow. We have a responsibility to win, even though the reality is that we would have to first monitor our opponents, before looking for an opportunity to pounce, as we have done before. We aim to continue our good form,” he said.

The DRC giants were the runners-up of the 2014 CAF Champions League in December when they lost to reigning champions EF Setiff of Algeria.
They arrived in the country yesterday through the King Mswati III International Airport.
And the team would train at the match venue this afternoon as per the procedure.

The club is bringing the continent’s best player in the local leagues, in Firmin Mubele Ndombe who scored a hattrick last year when they pummelled South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs in Kinshasa in the CAF Champions League last 16.
