LOBAMBA – The Swaziland National Boxing Association (SWABA) has announced April 11 as the date upon which the national Seniors/Juniors Championships will be staged.

This is a tournament that features all local pugilists who test their wits against each other in the different weight divisions to determine national champions, the best of the best in each particular category.

The date was revealed by SWABA Vice-President Vincent Sihlongonyane to member teams during the Special AGM that was at the Olympafrica Centre on Sunday

.
“The championships will be staged at Mavuso Sports Centre.”
He said the games would also accommodate the junior boxers as opposed to just featuring senior boxers.

The championships will also be used by the association to select players who will form the national team that will go on to represent Swaziland in the Zone IV Boxing Championships to be staged in South Africa from April 21-26.

Meanwhile, Sihlongonyane disclosed that they had planned a training camp for the squad that would be full-time, scheduled to begin on April 13-17 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
