LUTHERAN PRIMARY SHINES IN MBABANE SCHOOLS CHAMPS

MBABANE – Athletes from Mbabane Lutheran Primary School were a marvel to watch on the track during the Mbabane Branch schools’ athletics event yesterday.


The Prince of Wales Ground in Mbabane was a hive of activity as future stars from the first group of seven schools in the branch battled it out for silverware at the Prince of Wales Ground. Lutheran, also known as Ka-Schiele, had most athletes dominating in the longer events to be a cut above the rest. The school accumulated 87 points ahead of an equally competitive Qedusizi Primary. The latter got 71 points.


Despite dominating most of the shorter events, St Mark’s finished ranked fourth with 56 points. Swaziland Schools Sports Association, Mbabane Branch, Secretary, Siphesihle Simelane, commended the youngsters for their spirited display on the day.

“The next group from the branch will compete on Tuesday. Outstanding runners will represent the branch in the regional championships.”
Other schools that were part of the festivities was the forceful Fonteyn, Sigangeni, Mangwaneni and SOS.
