MBABANE – As Mbabane Highlanders were yesterday presented with yet another E15 000 for having opened the most accounts in two weeks, the club’s PRO Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini was asked to share the trick.

This was during the kit presentation of the eight teams to play the SwaziBank Cup, Ngiyo Ngiyo quarter-finals this weekend and the Insika Accounts Promotion winners’ presentation at the SwaziBank Umlunguzi Wendlovu Boardroom.

Programme Director Simiso Masuku, from the bank, asked him to share the trick as to how they managed to do it twice in a row. The promotion calls for fans to open the two Insika Accounts at E200 and E500 under their clubs’ names and every two weeks the team to have most fans opening the accounts wins E15 000.

Two weeks ago, Highlanders were presented with the first of the E15 000 prize at the Royal Villas at Ezulwini. “We have done quite so much to sensitise and encourage our fans to want to get involved in the club’s activities and things that need them to play a true supporter’s role. We’ve used the Times of Swaziland where we have a column, we’ve used radio and our branches,” he said.

He said even the workshop they recently had for their marshals encouraged a lot of Highlanders’ supporters that order was being restored in the team so they were opening these accounts to come on board and play their role.

He said this was also motivated by the fact that they were holders of the first Stanley Matsebula Award introduced last year and aiming at winning it again this year. Highlanders have now made E30 000 from the Insika Accounts Promotion and declared they could make it three in a row.

Highlanders were also congratulated by the bank’s Managing Director, Zakhele Lukhele, who urged other teams and fans to open these accounts because they shall be awarding similar prizes in the next fortnight. Lukhele also congratulated Royal Leopard for the CAF Confederation Cup triumph over South Africa’s Bidvest Wits, saying they took cognizance of the fact that they play the tournament by virtue of having won the SwaziBank Cup last year.

The competition will also see the top five team PROs win cash at the end of the tournament from the Insika Accounts Promotion, the grand prize being E3 000, 2nd – E2 500, 3rd – E2 000, 4th – E1 500, 5th – E1 000.
