LOBAMBA – South Africa’s Bidvest Wits Skipper Phumlani Ntshangase has said their shocking exit from the CAF Confederation Cup at the hands of local champions Royal Leopard was one they had to accept.

In his post-match interview at the Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday, Ntshangase conceded they were given little chance by the opponents and the result told the story.

future

"We came with a younger team which the coach believed in, after all, this is the future of Wits so we can’t really blame anyone. It happens in football and we have to accept it and move on, especially because we all saw how clean the loss was," he said. He said if they had some of their key players like Sibusiso Vilakazi, among others, perhaps they would have advanced. Nonetheless, he wished Leopard well, adding they would now be focussing on the ongoing Nedbank Cup and Absa Premiership.

margin

Wits came to the second leg leading 3-0 from their home game two weeks ago but lost with the same margin at the Somhlolo National Stadium after a sudden death penalty shootout.
