MBABANE – South Africa-based golfer, Nobuhle Dlamini, has maintained her bright showing in the ongoing Ladies Sunshine Tour.

The Lobamba-born golfer competed in her third and fourth Sunshine Tour events styled Dimension Data Ladies Pro-Am and Cape Ladies Open in the neighbouring country on Sunday and Thursday. She carded rounds of 80 and 71 to finish ranked seventh in the past weekend. She was ranked 16th with a gross score of 152 when she made a stop in Cape Town three days later.

According to information posted on the official Sunshine Tour website, she pocketed E5 765 and E2 020, respectively, for her achievement in the two tournaments.

This means Dlamini’s earnings since the start of the Sunshine Tour series early this month have shot up to E12 928. She got E2 960 and E2 183.33 in the Sun International Challenge as well as the Chase to Investec Cup, in that order, recently.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Stacy Bregman was a cut above the rest on one-under-par 143, earning E28 000 in the Dimension Data Challenge. In the latest tournament, Bregman was a champion again with four-under-par 144, pocketing E14 000. A total of E300 000 was up for grabs in the tournament.

congrats to uLaDlamini...we are proud of you Nkhosi. i think we need more female golfers in the country. somebody should take the initiative to promote more female golfing.

there are still these misconceptions about the strength needed for a shot, the social status of a golfer, competing costs etc but the truth is...anyone can play golf. just like soccer, once u hv d passion; the price of yo jersey, boots becomes insignificant to yo skill.

i hope someone will read and act upon these words.
