MBABANE – Siteki Mayor Mzobanzi Dlamini has implored the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) and the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) to ensure that players have a pension fund.

He said such an initiative could help the players after their football careers had come to an end. He said there were a lot of players who could not take care of themselves after their football careers had come to an end.
Dlamini said this during the TZD Swazi Legends visit to former XI Men In Flight, Mhlambanyatsi Rovers and the national team, Sihlangu player Nkomishi Simelane on Tuesday where they donate food and clothes. Simelane is currently living in a one room flat and he was once indisposed.

“With such schemes, players like Nkomishi Simelane could be benefiting. He is not the only one who is in need but there are a lot. It is unfortunate that we cannot reach all of them at the same time,” he said.
Dlamini said Simelane was a good citizen of the Siteki community.

“We are happy that TZD and the Swazi Legends have come out to give a helping hand. He is a man that is never involved in crime no matter the situation. We really appreciate it when such help comes forward,” he said.
Former Manzini Wanderers and Sihlangu defender Jerry ‘Mbazo’ Gamedze said they were touched when Zakhele Dlamini related the condition Simelane was leaving in. He said they once tried to do the same in the past year but failed, but now that TZD was in, they were able to fulfil the social responsibility. We are happy to give out the little that we have and we hope it will go a long way in helping Simelane,” he said.
