PIGG’S PEAK – Tambuti left home fans of fellow National First Division side Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows disappointed when they beat them 2-0 at Rocklands stadium to send them crashing out of the SwaziBank Cup.

Two first half goals, coupled with great saves by veteran goalkeeper Thokozani Mkhulisi, ensured that they continued their dream in the cup of dreams.

After attacking for some time, they cracked Black Swallows through Machawe Khumalo, who unleashed a powerful strike on the D-line which Friday Lukhele failed to keep out.

From there they were on the driver’s seat and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead in the 43rd minute when a failed clearance from miscommunication between the goalie and his defence saw him through on goal, and he calmly slotted home.

That was enough to get them the win away as Black Swallows’s efforts to get back into the game were fruitless and their former gaffer Alou Badara Konate went home a happy man.

It was either they found the Tambuti defence solid at the back, or went wide, or landed to Mhkulisi’s equally capable hands.
A notable save was when he dove to his left to parry away goal-bound curler from a dead ball.

Teams:

Bl. Swallows – Friday, Mpumelelo, Sibusiso, Nathi, Ncamiso, Sampson, Xolani, Asente (Ace), Cletus, Khulekani, Sifiso, Ntokozo.
Tambuti – Mkhulisi, Sanele, Mandla, Mpendulo, Ngidi, Roy, Machawe, Zwakele, Roger, Fabrice.
