MBABANE – It will be raining money during the Tuff One 21km race on March 1 at Zakhele Sports Ground.

The winner of the race in both male and ladies will pocket E1 500 while the runner up will take home E1 000. Golden Foot Athletics Club Chairperson Tokky Hou released the prize packages yesterday.

The event is hosted by Golden Foot and sponsored by Sportz House and Coca Cola. Hou said the prizes will be for the champions right down to the 10th finishers.

“The prizes applied to both males and ladies. We are confident that athletes will be all out to snatch the first prize money. The prizes will motivate the athletes to work hard and the standard of athletics will improve,” she said.
Hou said all finishers of the race will receive T-shirts and medals.

The race will also include a 10km run/ walk. “In the 10km run/ walk, athletes are not competing but we are promoting active healthy living. We invited the old and young ones to attend this race as it is for them.

Those who are strong enough and want to compete for the honours will be competing in the 21km. We are expecting huge numbers. It is safe and nice when you run in groups,” she said. Hou said the event was open to all people, even clubs. She said all clubs were welcome to send their athletes and individuals.

Registration is E50 for the 21km and E20 for the 10km run/ walk.
Over 500 athletes are expected to participate in the race.
