MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders supporter Jabu is a die hard supporter in the truest sense of the word.

Even when she stared death in the face, as a knife wielding fan charged towards her; fell badly on the concrete seating panel and suffered some bruises, she managed to stay on to watch the rest of the game as her beloved Highlanders lost by a solitary goal to a determined Manzini Sundowns.

An ice-cold Coca Cola is all a friend could use to ease her pain by rubbing it against her bruised cheek after the nasty incident at Mavuso Sports Centre, which has provoked reactions from football fans around the country.

The lady fan who smashed her head on the concrete seats was assisted by some marshals back on her feet. She confirmed that she has not laid any charges against her attacker and she had recovered from the incident.
She flatly declined to give details of what had transpired causing the fan to draw a knife and confront her.

Police Information and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Khulani Mamba said the matter was still being investigated by the Manzini Police. He said they condemn such acts at all cost.
“We discourage the nation from carrying weapons around. That is a crime in itself,” he said. Mamba said there were no charges laid against the knife-wielding fan.
