MBABANE – On Coaches Day, Zakhele Dlamini of TZD Sports Management issued a stern warning to football coaches about exploitation by teams.

Dlamini was one of the guest speakers at the event that was organized by the Swaziland Football Coaches Association (SFCA) held at Sigwaca House on Saturday.

He was speaking to them about the importance of contracts in their profession.
“It is important that as coaches you conduct yourselves professionally. As a coach you must have written contracts with teams and you must not start work without having signed a contract with that particular team. However, do not make agreements that have unrealistic goals because you will lose your job as quick as you got it. You must be careful of manipulation by teams and not work based on a verbal agreement because it will be difficult for us to fight for you when a conflict ensures.”

Dlamini then advised that the SFCA members work in unity and support each other.
He suggested that they advise each other when one member got a job offer, look at the contract together to ensure that the particular gaffer would be working under suitable conditions.

He also told the coaches that they were to take care of their welfare and not agree to get into a performance-based contract with teams that would be close to impossible to achieve, but rather let that opportunity go.
