MBABANE – There was drama yesterday during the Mbabane Highlanders case for allegedly causing the derby abandonment three weeks ago, as lawyer Zakhele Dlamini walked out while the case was in session.

Zakhele was representing the black and white outfit together with Martin ‘Internash’ Dlamini who was, however, there as an assistant and observer.  Zakhele walked out after they had been twice asked to leave the FA Disciplinary Committee for verdicts on two issues raised by the club at the start of the matter yesterday at Sigwaca House.

“We were dismissed on two issues we raised, one being that the PLS Executive that made the charges is not eligible to do so as some of its members do not qualify to be there, as they asked us to produce evidence that Horton does not have a team in the elite league and also dismissed us when we asked for a postponement of the case to consult with Highlanders,” Dlamini said when asked why he was leaving before the case finished. He explained that there was no need to stay when the DC will require even the obvious, alleging that it was known to all that some of the members were there illegitimately.

“I am now withdrawing as Highlanders’ lawyer in the case. I can’t continue with it now but then ‘Internash’ is still here,” he said before driving off. The case continued as the DC chaired by Melusi Lukhele said as a matter of public interest it should continue to be heard despite the lawyers’ arguments that they were charged by an illegitimate body. The case had already been postponed twice before yesterday.

However, since Zakhele had withdrawn his services in the case, it did not last much longer after he left, as it was then potponed to allow ‘Internash’ to get instructions from Highlanders.
