MBABANE – The Disciplinary Committee (DC) has given the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) an ultimatum to give Mbabane Highlanders findings of the organisation’s private investigations.

The black and white outfit, facing a charge of causing the abandonment of the ill-fated derby clash played at Somhlolo National Stadium, applied to the DC, chaired by Melusi Lukhele, to have the PLS submit the findings.

The PLS convened a press conference last week to announce that according to their own findings, both the Mbabane teams’ bosses, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze of Mbabane Swallows and Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane of Highlanders were not implicated in any of the match reports submitted to the office by match officials of the day.

It later emerged, however, during last week’s hearing, that the Match Commissioner Dumisani Hadebe, had implicated both administrators in his report, as having clashed to spark off the mayhem.

The DC granted Highlanders their wish to have the PLS give the black and white outfit all the findings of their investigations. Actually, the organisation was ordered to do so by Monday at noon at the latest.

In the case, which is likely to go down the country’s football history pages, Highlanders are represented by former PLS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zakhele Dlamini and attorney Martin ‘Internash’ Dlamini. The Highlanders’ representatives argued strongly during the case that the findings of the organisation would give them a clear direction on how to proceed in the matter.

We seem to be going back to the dark days of etafuleni soccer decisions. Only an insane person can try to link the altercation between the Directors to the stoppage of the game. Now it is becoming clear why one of them summersaulted in his original statement. The game was stopped because Highlanders fans were rioting. Any other finding will seriously dent the credibility of this sport. It would mean that any team which is losing can stage a riot and blame it on something else and get away with it! We are are watching you! COSAFA is watching you. CAF is watching you! FIFA is watching you!
