MBABANE – Gifted pugilist, Sibonelo Ndzimandze’s lethal punches in neighbouring South Africa continue to put the country on the world map.

The national 64kg division champion claimed gold at the South African National Institutional Boxing Championships hosted in Johannesburg between December 3 and 8.

The event was sanctioned by University Sports South Africa (USSA).
The seasoned boxer, studying at the University of Zululand, was a cut above the rest in the 69kg division to also earn a place in the World University Games to be staged in 2016.

Ndzimandze expressed his delight on the achievement, thanking Fitness Zone, for helping him stay in shape for major tournaments.
“I’m humbled about the achievement. I get inspiration from the Zululand team as it has emerged the best in the USSA Games.”

Ndzimandze also made the country proud by winning three prestigious awards at the university last year. The Ubombo Boxing Stable pugilist was named as the Boxer of the Year and further won two trophies for the best bout and boxer of the tournament.
