MBABANE – Doors could open for youngsters, playmaker Justice Figareido and striker Wandile ‘King’ Dlamini at the professional Zimbabwean Premier League.

The pair, who play for Manzini Sundowns and former elite league side Manchester United respectively, attracted interest from that country’s football giants, Bulawayo Highlanders after their performance for the national junior side in the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region V Under-20 Youth Games that ended in the past week.

Figareido was influential for the side while the pint-sized forward scored all Team Swaziland’s three goals in the tournament. An unnamed scout for the team is said to have approached the duo in one of the venues, Luveve Stadium, with an interest to bring the players on board in future for further assessment.

The players, in separate interviews, confirmed the latest developments.
“They took our contacts and promised to get back to us,” said Dlamini.
The move could come with a reported E20 000 signing-on fee.

Highlanders Chief Executive Officer Ndumiso Gumede was not immediately available for comment as he was reported out of office until today.
Highlanders are one of the biggest and oldest teams in Zimbabwe, parading some of the best players who usually make their name in other countries, especially South Africa’s Absa Premiership.
